WHAT IS JIU JITSU?
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) is a martial art that teaches you how to use your body to control another person, and limit their ability to do you harm.
WHAT WILL MY CHILD LEARN?
Your child will learn key Jiu Jitsu skills and principles by playing fun, interactive games together with you.
WHAT AGE RANGE IS ACCEPTED?
The Parent & Me class is for young toddlers ages 2-3 years old. Toddlers who are ages 3-4 are eligible for our independent Toddler Class.
WHEN WILL CLASSES TAKE PLACE?
The Parent & Me class is slated to take place on Thursdays at 11:00-11:30am. Classes will begin Summer 2025.
DOES MY CHILD NEED TO BE POTTY TRAINED?
No, your child does not need to be potty-trained. Toddlers who are not potty-trained may participate in class while wearing a diaper.
DO PARENTS NEED TO HAVE PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE?
No, there is no experience required.
DO WE NEED TO WEAR UNIFORMS?
No, neither you nor your child will need to wear a uniform. You can wear comfortable athletic clothing that you already own. No special equipment is required.

Alex Aung
BLACK BELT, 3RD DEGREE
Alex is the head instructor of Common Ground. He is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and previously worked as a child psychotherapist. Alex is also a parent, and is knowledgeable about working with children and youth.
Sally Chung
BROWN BELT
Sally is an experienced instructor who specializes in working with women and kids. She is passionate about empowering children to believe in themselves and feel confident in their abilities.
